"Two painters in lyric dialogue”: Natalia Thomaidi and Eleftheria Zahariadou

The Bissell Library is hosting, from November 24, 2025, the painting exhibition “Two painters in Lyric dialogue: Natalia Thomaidi and Eleftheria Zahariadou.

Natalia Thomaidi and Eleftheria Zahariadou are two painters well known in Thessaloniki and acclaimed for their artistic and long-standing teaching work. Since 1992, the two artists have shared a teacher-student relationship, which, after Eleftheria completed her studies in England, evolved into a collaboration in teaching drawing and painting at Natalia Thomaidi’s Art School, resulting in a deep friendship and a mutual appreciation of each other’s work.

 For the exhibition at the Bissell Library, the two painters selected pieces from throughout their careers; paintings distinguished by their thematic simplicity, poetic mood, calmness, and orderliness, elements consistent with the space's spirituality and high aesthetics. These paintings reflect the kinship of the two artists, their shared values in life and art, and highlight how each of the two creators depicts nature and the world around them through their unique expressive means.
