Anatolia American University Makers Society Hosts Drone Entrepreneur and Alumnus Giorgos Papadimitropoulos

The Anatolia University Makers Society welcomed Giorgos Papadimitropoulos, a 2020 ACT graduate in Computer Science and returning member of the Society, for a session exploring drone technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

A member of the Makers Society since fall 2016, Papadimitropoulos has a longstanding passion for drones, with experience in building, racing, and improving them. His technical expertise includes electronics, microcontrollers, and 3D design and printing.

In 2015, he founded GEP Unmanned, a Thessaloniki-based company specializing in drone design and research and development (R&D), which recently transitioned into Stark Greece.

During the meeting, Papadimitropoulos shared insights into his professional journey and discussed the capabilities of modern drones and their applications across different fields. The session gave students an opportunity to learn more about emerging technologies and how technical interests can evolve into professional careers.

Weather permitting, participants also had the opportunity to watch a live drone-flying demonstration behind Bissell Library.

The event highlighted the Anatolia University Makers Society’s commitment to hands-on learning, technical creativity, and connecting students with alumni and professionals working at the forefront of technology.
