Students Explore Entrepreneurship and Startup Strategy with Guest Speaker Vassilis Triantafillou
Students in MNGT 101 – Introduction to Management at Anatolia American University had the opportunity to gain valuable real-world insights into entrepreneurship during a guest session held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, featuring Mr. Vassilis Triantafillou, founder of Coached Founders.
Mr. Triantafillou’s presentation focused on the key dimensions of entrepreneurial activity and decision-making, guiding students through the process of developing a business idea and evaluating the resources, risks, and critical factors involved in launching a new venture or startup. Drawing from his extensive professional experience, he offered a practical perspective on what it takes to move from concept to execution in today’s competitive business environment.
Particular emphasis was placed on the strategy and process that founders need to follow in order to attract the interest of potential investors, business angels, and venture capital firms. Students were introduced to the importance of preparation, clarity of vision, and strategic thinking when presenting a startup idea to those who may support its growth.
The session concluded with an active Q&A discussion, during which students raised a wide range of questions about the different stages of a new venture, as well as the common mistakes that can affect a startup’s chances of success in the marketplace. Their strong engagement reflected a clear interest in entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as in the practical realities behind building a business.
Mr. Triantafillou brings extensive experience in entrepreneurship, investment evaluation, and business development. A serial founder with seven business exits and two failures, he has built a career that reflects both success and hands-on learning. He also has 30 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality industry across Greece, Cyprus, and Europe. Over the last eight years, he served as co-founder and CEO of a FinTech company in the UK, while in 2023 he established I2i, a venture scouting and early-stage evaluation business that supports startups seeking funding from international investors.
