The Dukakis Center Co-organizes Book Presentation on Greek-US Relations
The Michael and Kitty Dukakis Center for Public and Humanitarian Service at Anatolia co-organized and sponsored the recent book presentation of Dr. Konstantinos Diogos's book, Το όραμα των Ελλήνων για τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες της Αμερικής. Από την Ελληνική Επανάσταση έως τον Α’ Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο (The Greek Vision of the United States of America. From the Greek Revolution to World War I) (Athens: Alexandria, 2024).
The event took place on Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Museum for the Macedonian Struggle in Thessaloniki and featured a distinguished panel of speakers. Representing the Dukakis Center was Dr. Christos Aliprantis, who participated in the presentation alongside Dr. Vasilis Gounaris (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki - AUTh), Dr. Nikos Marantzidis (University of Macedonia), Dr. Giorgos Kalogeras (AUTh), and the author, Dr. Konstantinos Diogos.
The book explores the complex and evolving Greek perspective on the United States from the early stages of the Greek War of Independence up to the outbreak of World War I, offering significant insights into the history of transatlantic relations and the shaping of modern Greek identity. The co-organization of this event by the Dukakis Center highlights its commitment to fostering scholarly dialogue on topics of historical and political significance.
