1st Interdisciplinary Conference: Bridging Biology and Chemistry
From Molecular Synthesis to Biological Function and Application
Date: October 3, 2026
Location: Bissell Library upper level, Campus, Anatolia American University, Thessaloniki
Language: English
Participation: Free – Registration Required
The Department of Biological Sciences, School of Science and Technology of Anatolia American University will host a one-day interdisciplinary conference exploring the interface between chemistry and biology, with a strong emphasis on educational, concept-driven scientific presentations.
The conference will feature invited talks by faculty from Anatolia American University, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Democritus University of Thrace and other external institutions, as well as short student oral presentations and poster sessions. The event is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as post-doctoral and faculty members, with an interest in chemical and biological sciences.
Student participation is a central component of the conference, providing an opportunity to engage with current research directions in Greece, gain exposure to interdisciplinary scientific approaches, and develop skills in scientific communication within an academic setting.
Thematic Areas Include:
- Synthetic and medicinal chemistry targeting biological systems
- Chemical biology and biochemistry
- Microbial ecology and antibiotic discovery
- Biomolecular interactions and structure–function relationships
- Biotechnology and metabolic engineering
Registration
Registration is open to both presenters and attendees who wish to participate in the conference. All individuals planning to attend must complete the online registration form and indicate whether they will participate as presenters (oral or poster) or attend as observers. Registration is free of charge but required for organizational and logistical purposes. Early registration is encouraged, as capacity may be limited. Participants intending to present should also consult the Call for Abstracts below for submission instructions and requirements.
Call for Abstracts
